Internet Explorer Address Bar

On my childrens computer the address bar comes up with a
list of addresses when you start to type a www. address,
my systems were hacked into a while ago and they were
using thier computer to link to another on the www, how
do I clear the list of addresses that come up without
having to re-install XP. I have a secure system now and
am trying to clean all the files that had been deposited
there, can someone please help me, I would be very
grateful

Hi,

Disable autocomplete in IE and set the number of days to
be 0 in history.

click on tools | Internet options in IE and then the
history button is on the first tab. the disable
autocomplete is in the content tab. Click the
autocomplete button and uncheck use autocomplete.
