internet explorer 6

I am useing internet explorer 6.o with windows 98. I have
no problem brousing the web etc. The problem I am having is
when I disconnect from internet explorer My computer locks
up for 2-3 minutes before I can use it again. Can anyone
help me and tell me what's wrong

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
