Internet Explorer 6

Matt

I have Windows 2000 Professional and Internet Explorer 6.
I keep getting an error message that pops up and says:

A script on this page is causing internet explorer to run
slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become
unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?

What is this and how do I fix this. It seems to happen all
the time, no matter what site I am on?

Have you tried to repair your IE? Click on Start,
Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove programs, highlight
then click IE, select Repair. If that does not work then
see if this happens with another browser which is IE
based. Go to Downloads.com and download SlimBrowser. It's
superior to IE6 but still retains the features of IE. If
the problem reoccurs then you will need to reinstall IE.
First you need to change the registry value by using
regedit (Start, Run, type in regedit, click OK) Then
locate the following site

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, Software, Microsoft, Installed
Components, 44BBA848-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C

Click on IsInstalled click on Edit , then Modify and
change the value to 0
Download IE6 SP1 at this site
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/ie6s
p1/default.asp
Reboot the machine.
