Internet Explorer 6 SP2 - Cannot Log in to sites

I am running IE 6 with Windows XP SP2. When I attempt to log in to sites that
require user id and password I get a response that the page cannot be
diplayed. This occurs on email accounts like Netscape and on McAfee's site
when I attempt to get virus updates. I tried checking to see if my Windows
was up to date and also got an error back saying it was unable to gather
update info. I then tried to submit the update problem for resolution but
that window hung too when I attempted to submit the information. Any
suggestions?

I'm having the EXACT same problem. I reinstalled XP over the weekend, and
got everything installed, and since my reintall, I have not been able to log
in to any site. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
