Internet Explorer 6 is not consistent in openning wab sites

After the Windows XP was reinstalled, the Internet Explorer is not the same
as it was in openning some web sites. For some web sites it's still the same.
However, for some other web sites, the contents are not distributed in the
full window of the Internet Explorer. Intead, all the contents are
restricted in the left 2/3 of the Internet Explorer window, while there is no
contents in the right 1/3 of the window.

What should be done to set it back to normal? Thanks.

Thanks, Rob.

The Search Explorer Bar is not selected. I did the 'Reset Web
Settings' but it don't make any difference. The problem is that the some web
pages
are displayed onyy in the left 2/3 of the Internet Explorer window, while
the right 1/3 of the window has no contents.

Hi Jeff,

First check if you have the Search Explorer Bar selected (View>Explorer
Bars>Search) - this would explain the blank left hand side of your browser
window. You can toggle the display of the Search Explorer bar with the
Ctrl+E keyboard shortcut.

Ok if it is being displayed and is blank then to reset your search assistant
(the name of the program that is usually placed in the Search Explorer band)
go to the Programs tab of Internet Options and select the 'Reset Web
Settings' button.

Many pages are coded to display 800 pixels wide. If your window is wider
than that you will have a blank area or areas in you window.

Hi Jeff,

I hope you see this post. It has slipped down the list a bit.

Is this happening on all pages or just a particular site. R u using XP?

There are differences in the rendering engine in the XP version of IE that
can cause some parts of web pages not to show (orphaned comment tags)

So if this is the case then it is not an IE problem but the web site
