Internet connection

Hi everybody,

I connect to the internet thru my modem. Sometimes when I
am on-line my computer disconnects from my usual
connetion and then dials a connection in a foreign
country. I am not able to stop the process unless I re-
start the computer. I have scanned my computer with
Norton but no virus is detected.

Can someone tell me what is going on and how to prevent
it from happening?

When you visit a site and it wants money from you, it
will sometimes hang up your existing dial up and have it
redial to its host site via a chargeable number. That is
how they make money for you viewing their site. It is
charged to your phone bill.
