Internet connection with ICS

Terry

I have an ICS network of two XPs and one ME. One of the
XPs is ICS host and has a dial-up Internet connection.
The network PCs can now see each other . (I had to 'hard
code' the IP addresses of the clients because the ICS
wizard on the ICS host kept failing.) My problem is that
when any PC uses IE to access the web I get 'Cannot
display Page (cannot find server or DNS server error).
Similarly Outlook cannot find its mail servers.

My IP config looks like this:

I can ping the DNS servers on the network from the ICS
host but not from the clients (no route message).

I cannot ping the network gateway.

This problem, which I am sure is a gift to an expert, has
been driving me crazy for two days.

Help

I think the problem is on the clients, not on the host.

When you manually configure a client, you need to make all of these
settings. I suspect that the Default Gateway is missing:

IP Address: 192.168.0.x (1<x<255)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS Server = 192.168.0.1

Thanks Steve - we are almost there!!
I can now use IE on the clients but still have the
problem on the ICs host.

This is hard coded on the LAN side but uses automatic IP
address and DNS on the Internet side.

What next ?

Terry
