internet connection using usb hub

i would like to know how every time i load up the internet i first have to
unplugg and then plug sraight back in my usb cable. i have tried it without
and now with a usb hub. i am using broadband. my laptop will not load xp
while the usb hub is plugged in.

Chuck the USB hub, get a real, ethernet hub, router or switch and
install ethernet or wireless cards in all PC's needing access - note
wireless cards will require a Wireless access Point built in or connected to
a router.
I've worked with a few large cable companies, and the number 1 headache
for our help line is customers trying to use "USB" network connection(s) of
some type. My last company absolutely refused to install the cable modem,
if you were using a USB network card, as they are so much trouble.
