Internet connection status

Why does it say that Speed is 1,5Kbits on the Internet connection status,
when I know that it is much more?
I have WinXpSp2 home with all updates onboard.
Just curious, Reima
 
Maybe I should have stated, 1.5Kbps at Internet Gateway on the little icon
in taskbar that says "Internet Connection Status".
That is kilo bits not Bytes, can it be a typo from Microsoft?
Maybe it should read 1.5Mbps?
