Internet Connection Sharing

P

Paul McGuire

I have a windows 2000 pro computer that i want to use to share a broadband
internet connection. the default settings for ICS is to use the 192.168.0.1
for the host. In my network that ip address is already in use. Will ICS
still work if i change the ipaddress to 192.168.0.254?

Thanks in Advance

Hi Paul,

ICS does not let you change the configuration of the DHCP allocator. The
clients will all get default gateways that point to 192.168.0.1. You either
need to change your server's IP or use RRAS/NAT on a Windows 2000 Server
which allows the changes you want to make.

Thanks,
