I'm thinking about upgrading from ME to XP but my
internect connecton runs through another computer which
has ME. I can't upgrade to XP on the computer with the
modem.

Is it possible for XP computers to connect to the internet
through an ME computer to the internet? the only reason i
ask is we tried this before with XP Home once last year
and it didn't work and i had to partition my hard drives
and start again with ME

Jack. I see no problem with an XP PC client (ICS) accessing the internet
through a ME host. As long as the XP client can receive an IP address from
the ME host you should have no problems.

Sure, it's possible. I've written some web pages showing how to do it:

1. Set up XP as an ICS client as shown here:

XP ICS - Client Setup Using the Network Setup Wizard
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/clientwiz.htm

2.. Set up ME as an ICS host as shown here:

ICS Installation [WinMe]
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/ics/icsmeinstall.htm

Don't run XP's Network Setup Wizard on ME, even if it tells you to.
