internet connection not connecting on boot up

John

I use XP home - Verizon DSL - with a Westell Wirespeed modem. I used to
have a 2wire home
portal - but have disconnected it and am currently connected directly to the
modem.

Each time I boot the computer - I need to manually "connect" to Verizon
Start > Connect to > choose verizon and I get a window with my user name
pre-filled - a password box that says "click here if you want to change
your password..." - there is a check box to "save password" (which is
checked) - I click ok - and at the lower right - system tray - I see
"connected at 400 something" - I can then launch IE and all is ok.

What do I need to do to connect automatically when I boot up the computer?
