Internet connection drops every 2-3 hours

Hello,

My dial-up internet connection drops every few hours. I changed ISPs but
it's still happening.
In the Options tab of the properties of the connection, the "Idle time
before hanging up" it is "never."

Any help?

Could be the modem itself, or your phone lines.

Is this the only machine in this location? If not, is
anyone else having this problem?

We have another PC running Win 2000 Prof (mine is Win 2000 server sp4) on a
separate telephone line and line drops as well. Does the telephone company
disconnect us?

some isp's will "kick" users if they are idle for a set amount of time.

The ISP denies disconnecting users.

Any ideas?
