I have attempted to cause the Internet Connection Activity icon in the
notification area to 'blink' as it did in XP and have had no success.

I would right click on the icon; got a drop down menu; then selected 'turn
on activity animation'.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi James--

It should be on by default, but I've noticed it doesn't always blink with no
impact on my connectivity. You can try right clicking it and turning it off
and on from the context menu and seeing if that helps (it usually does).
Mine wasn't blinking and this worked for me. You could also try running sfc
/scannow from an elevated command prompt and see if that fixes it.

James--

As far as I can tell it has no connection to actual connectivity. There
are ways to investigate connectivity reached within the context menu, not to
mention the command prompt. Right clicking>turn off connectivity>turn on
connectivity and it makes it blink for me. Although it is no index (as far
as I can tell to your internet connectivity, IPV4 or IPV6 functionality, the
ability to connect to a network/internet, I can understand your wanting it
to work.
