I just installed a router to share my ISP with my playstation 2, it was all
plug and play and i got on line with my ps2 and my computer with no problems
but after a while with no internet activity my conection stops working and i
cant get on the internet but my ps2 still can. The only way to use the
internet is to restart the computer. In my network conections it has a icon
for internet gateway but it is disabled but i can still get on the net but if
i leave my comp for a while it stops working again. I tryed to start the
internet gateway but its just says connection failed and thats it. I ran the
network troubleshooter but it says every thing is fine.

Go to the System applet in Control Panel and open Device Manager (under
Hardware). Find the entry for your network card and double-click it to
get its properties. You should see a Power Management tab. Click it and
uncheck the box that says, "Allow Windows to turn off this device when
not in use". Apply and OK out. See if that solves the issue.

Then I'm sorry, but I don't know. You haven't provided enough
information to get focused troubleshooting. Did your computer connect
well to the Internet before you added the router into the mix? If you
connect your computer directly to your Internet device (cable? dsl? you
didn't say), does everything work well?

Yes i have Cable modem, it worked fine before the router, I think i fixed it
it was a conflick betwen my program firewall(ZONE ALARM) and the router i
just added the router to my trusted zone in zone alarm and windows auto
installed a upnp-nat-gateway and now it all seems to be working fine. Thank
you for the help though. Thank you very much

That'll do it. I'm glad you got it sorted, and thanks for posting the
solution.
