I keep having a problem since at least 5 months ago.

In fact when I'm surfing the internet, suddenly eveything blocks and I have
a message that internet cannont find the server anymore.
Or I'm using skype (for ex.) and the call suddenmy hangs up, and the
connection doesn't work again.

Then I try to deconnect my internet to begin the conection again but its
impossible, because everything is bloqued.

I have to finish what I was doing with the task manager end of task, and
then when I try to turn off my computer windows stop responding during the
shutdown at "saving your settings" and I have to turn it off holding wome
seconds the power button, to restart again eveything.

It happens very often, I guess at least once a day.

Do you know what the problem can be? I suppose that the fact of turning off
the womputer like this will finish by harming womething in the computer.

Thank you for your help.

I have no idea on your skype problem, ask them.

If you experience slow logoff (with Saving your settings for most of the
time while logging off), you are having profile unload problems.

If you see a lot of Userenv/1517, Userenv/1524 or Userenv/1500 errors in the
Event Viewer, download and install the User Profile Hive Cleanup Service.

This decreased my shutdown time a bunch. Takes any where from 10 to 20
seconds to shutdown.

C:\Program Files\UPHClean\uphclean.exe is added.

The User Profile Hive Cleanup service gets added to Services and
uphclean.exe will run all the time. I am one that doesn't like to have any
extra services running, but I am sold on UPHClean.

thanks for your answer Wesley

In fact i mentioned skype just as an exemple, to say that the problem begins
when i'l using internet.
SOmetimes I can't log off perfectly without any problem.

But sometimes when i'm surfing the internet and everything freezes or blocs,
the only solution I have is to shut down the computer..and then I cannont
shut in off normaly because it stays "forever" bloqued in "saving your
settings" so the only thing I can do is to use the button.

I hope my problem is better described now !!

Anyway I looked into the event viewer and i found almost once a day the
userev 1517.

Does it means that if I do what you suggested this will help?

Honestly I didn't knew the event viewer and I was surprised to find so many
"strange"" things.... I think I'm gonna open another message asking for other
things.

Thank you again.

Your internet problems are probably caused by spyware. But that's another
chapter.

A couple of tips:
Ctrl + W will close the active Internet Explorer window. You can keep
hitting Ctrl + W until they are all closed.

You can use the Task Manager to close all instances of Internet Explorer
(iexplore.exe). Hit Ctrl + Shift + Escape to open the Task Manager. Click
on the Processes tab. Click on the Image Name header to alphabetize the
list. Right click each instance of iexplore.exe one at a time, select End
Process and click YES to the prompt. Repeat as necessary.
Does it means that if I do what you suggested this will help?

It should help. In fact, this MSKB article recommends:
"To resolve this issue, use the Microsoft User Profile Hive Cleanup Service
(UPHClean). UPHClean monitors the computer while Windows is unloading user
profiles and forces resources that are open to close. Therefore, the
computer can unload and reconcile user profiles."
