Internal hyperlink doesn't go to correct page

FrontPage 2003, all MS updates
No 'non-MS' utilities etc in use either in FP or outside of FP.
New to FP2003!

We created our website a while back and used buttons instead of internal
web-links. Now, we're in the process of removing all the buttons and using
internal hyperlinks.
1) We copied our FP2003 website from c:\MyWebSite\WebSite to
c:\MyWebSite\NewWebSite via Windows Explorer.
2) We then created the template page so that the top section and the far
left sections are the same. The far left webpage section contains the
internal hyperlinks for Services; Products; About Us; Contact Us; etc -
standard stuff....
3) All external links on our webpages seem to work fine (we have fully
tested all the external links yet but we're at 100% for the one's we've
tested).
4) However, the INTERNAL weblinks always bring up the OLD webpages (buttons
and all!) and not the new. This is true for a single link from our HOME page
(index.htm) like About Us or a link to other pages such as Services or
Products. [The link to the OLD webpages is consistent through all the NEW
pages, not just the HOME/index.htm page.]

Much of the time we created the new webpages by copying the new template to
C:\MyWebSite\NewWebSite\Backup01 and made our changes there and then copied
them back to the c:\MyWebSite\NewWebSite directory even writing over the
pre-existing 'old' webpage. [Here, the copying was done from withing FP2003.
and we've also adjusted the web images to point correctly. ]

A) So, what do we need to do so that ALL the internal hyperlinks go to the
correct NEW webpages under c:\MyWebSite\NewWebSite and not to the OLD
webpages? B) How do we fully test this?
C) Once, we publish we're presuming that everything will resolve ok or how

Instead of copying the web using windows explorer, you should have used FrontPage and "Published" from the old
web to the new web.
That would have updated all of the hyperlinks.

It would appear that you're telling us to copy the FP2003 webpages from
within FP. The reason we did the external copying is that we needed to
create the "NewWebSite" directory and then, since we were in Windows
Explorer, it was more efficient to copy from "OldWebSite" directory to the
"NewWebSite" directory.

With the old web open in FrontPage you should have clicked File > Publish
and then simply told FrontPage that the new location was disk based and then entered
c:\MyWebSite\NewWebSite.
FrontPage would have created the new web, and published all of the files to it, updating all internal (
relative )
links.

External ( absolute ) links will not be changed by the publish process.

When creating internal ( relative ) links do "not" browse outside of the web root,
but simply link to services.htm and not www.mywebsite.com/Services.htm

Also, it is always better to use all lower case names when naming files.

Try global search and replace.
Open a page, switch to code view.
Highlight an old link.
Click Edit > Replace,
Enter the correct link it the replace box.
Check All pages
Check Find in source code.

Do this for each incorrect link.

You could also use the broken hyperlinks report -
With the website open use
View->Reports->Problems->Hyperlinks

Double click on a link and use the dialogue to browse to the correct
file and correct the links. This deals with multiple pages at a time.

Steve,
After reviewing what you said and doing a little more research I found that
my issue was absolute addressing to the internal website
(www.mydomain.com\mypage20.htm) rather than relative addressing
(mypage20.htm). So, I've just completed and published everything after
removing the references to www.mydomain.com.
Arg... but finished!

FWIW, I noticed I needed to do each webpage rather than globally for the
Edit>Replace of http:\\www.mydomain.com\. For some reason IF I didn't click
IN the top of the split view, FP2003 couldn't find the text I was searching
on. Got this done, but it was very tedious...

After reviewing what you said and doing a little more research I found that
my issue was absolute addressing to the internal website
(www.mydomain.com\mypage20.htm) rather than relative addressing
(mypage20.htm). So, I've just completed and published everything after
removing the references to www.mydomain.com.

FWIW, I noticed I needed to do each webpage rather than globally for the
Edit>Replace of http:\\www.mydomain.com\. For some reason IF I didn't click
IN the top of the split view, FP2003 couldn't find the text I was searching
on. Got this done, but it was very tedious...

With the old web open in FrontPage you should have clicked File > Publish
and then simply told FrontPage that the new location was disk based and then entered
c:\MyWebSite\NewWebSite.
FrontPage would have created the new web, and published all of the files to it, updating all internal (
relative )
links.

External ( absolute ) links will not be changed by the publish process.

When creating internal ( relative ) links do "not" browse outside of the web root,
but simply link to services.htm and not www.mywebsite.com/Services.htm

Also, it is always better to use all lower case names when naming files.

It appears that all the hyperlinks work fine for the external links. The
internal links, previously done via buttons, were changed to 'character'
hyperlinks like "Services" instead of a "Services" button. [My 'take' is
that ALL button related hyperlinks are wrong and also the new 'character'
hyperlinks. I'm pretty sure the NEW template was created in the OLD
website's set of directories, too. Live n learn....]

Maybe I don't understand your comment since we removed the buttons and hence
their associated links anyway. We then put in "Services" to replace and the
Services button and then established a hyperlink to the
"www.mywebsite.com\Services.htm" page.
1) Given that the copy was done via Windows Explorer how do we correct the
internal links on the left-side? There are about 10-ish for each webpage.
2) Do we have to 'redo' each hyperlink or is there a more general way?

It would appear that you're telling us to copy the FP2003 webpages from
within FP. The reason we did the external copying is that we needed to
create the "NewWebSite" directory and then, since we were in Windows
Explorer, it was more efficient to copy from "OldWebSite" directory to the
"NewWebSite" directory.

Instead of copying the web using windows explorer, you should have used FrontPage and "Published" from
the
old
web to the new web.
That would have updated all of the hyperlinks.

FrontPage 2003, all MS updates
No 'non-MS' utilities etc in use either in FP or outside of FP.
New to FP2003!

We created our website a while back and used buttons instead of internal
web-links. Now, we're in the process of removing all the buttons and using
internal hyperlinks.
1) We copied our FP2003 website from c:\MyWebSite\WebSite to
c:\MyWebSite\NewWebSite via Windows Explorer.
2) We then created the template page so that the top section and the far
left sections are the same. The far left webpage section contains the
internal hyperlinks for Services; Products; About Us; Contact Us; etc -
standard stuff....
3) All external links on our webpages seem to work fine (we have fully
tested all the external links yet but we're at 100% for the one's we've
tested).
4) However, the INTERNAL weblinks always bring up the OLD webpages (buttons
and all!) and not the new. This is true for a single link from our HOME page
(index.htm) like About Us or a link to other pages such as Services or
Products. [The link to the OLD webpages is consistent through all the NEW
pages, not just the HOME/index.htm page.]

Much of the time we created the new webpages by copying the new template to
