intermitent network cable unplugged

I seem to recieve a network cable unplugged in the task
bar every once in a while. I just need to restart
iexplorer and everthing is okay. The message in the
toolbar lasts like a second. I am going through a router.
 
It could be a short in your cable, the connectors on the
end of your cable a bad port on your router or a failing
network card
