Hi.
My Intellimouse Explorer 4.0 USB is making trouble with the left mouse
button.
It's erratic and more often than not requires more then 1 press to "take"
the click and give respons.

I have tried to change around on the buttons, but have not succeded in any
change yet.
Anybody?

Win XP Pro
SP1
AMD 2500+ Barton
512MB PC2100
Asus A7N8X

Best regards

Well, unfortuneately I'm not writing with a solution, but to tell you you're
not alone.

Like you, I often have to click two times when only one click is needed, and
like you, it's fairly erratic. I've found that if I click and hold for a
second or two, the click will "take", but that should not be normal for any
mouse, especially a $40 one.

I've scoured the microsoft website looking for info regarding a return (I
know longer have the receipt and the 30-day store return policy has expired),
but to no avail . . . I can't even find a phone number!

HELP!!!

Neither of you are alone, I had the same thing and unfortunately my
electronic engineer friend found in my case it was a faulty micro
switch (most likely caused by pounding on it while playing online
games) anyway the fix - replacement mouse, the new one works fine.

To diagnose if you have the same fault set up the mouse for left
handed use in it's setting i.e. swap over the left and right buttons.
If clicking with the right button works then the microswitch on the
left one is broken as mine was.

Hmmm... I doesn't like the sound of this..... and that may be largely
because I can't find the receipt for my mouse.
;-)
Anyway, I thought these things was made for some amont of pounding(?) If
they can't take more than a few months of RR, it may be that one should
change brand etc...

Tony, I had same problem for months with a broken battery case cover as well.
I finally got it replaced (under warranty, new wireless intellimouse
explorer 2.0) but now the software (ver 5.0 or later) will not install due to
O/S requirements. I need a driver/software package for Win ME!!! Does
anyone have a solution, I have been looking for hours n hours my eyes are
bugged!
