Intel Active Monitor

Hi,

I have a Pentium 3-based system with an Intel D815EEA motherboard. I just
upgraded from Win98SE to Win2k and everything seems to be working fine
except for the Active Monitor program. Although the motherboard manual
stated that Active Monitor (Ver. 1.0) works with Win2k and the installation
did not report any errors, when I try to run it it fails with the following
error message:

"Run-time error '353'
Can't find DLL entry point IdentifySensor in SensorDLL.dll"

I tried to install a newer version over the existing one but that
installation gave an error message to the effect that I needed to uninstall
the previous version first. Add/Remove Programs cannot remove the program
and returns a message:

"An older version of Intel Active Monitor exists on the system.
Before trying to install this version, you must first uninstall the older
version using "Add/Remove Programs" from the Control Panel."

So, how do I remove the program so that I can install the newer version? I
suspect that editing the registry is the only way but I don't know how to do
that. Any help would be appreciated. By the way, the motherboard is now
"archived" and so there is no Intel support for it!

Thanks in advance,
-computerguy

You'll have to get in touch with the application developer. This behavior is
typical of an upgrade.

Hi Dave,

Is it possible to delete the keys in the registry which refer to the program
since technical support for the product may have expired.

TIA,
-computerguy

Possibly but only the application developer knows which ones and where.
