intel 944xba mobo and wrong ram display

have a 955xba intel mobo with 4GB RAM installed. it only reports 3.25 GB
RAM in the properties window. already tried /PAE switch, but doesn't
correct the problem. any ideas? thanks in advance!
 
That's normal. The address areas used by the PCI bus are unavailable.
