Intel 915 chipset and WinXP installation, not an XP partition?

D915PBL motherboard, 2 SATA drives in intel raid 1. Boot from XP cd, f6,
load intel drivers, create partition on Raid volume, but won't format. Says
it's not an xp partition, delete it and try again. I've done this over and
over. The only thing I can think of is that there's another intel driver I
need to load, but no reference to it anywhere..

Anyone have any ideas?

Where are you trying to do this, recovery will work, press enter key for pass-
word, then type:DiskPart In DiskPart create or delete partitions, then press
Esc
key,then type:FORMAT C: /FS:ntfs For more options type:HELP All you need
in F6 is the driver for the controller, you need to press S first, then
install floppy,
select controller the SATA drives reside on,then press S again, this time
youll
get the option to use windows drivers or drivers on floppy, use floppy, then
press
enter,proceed...

Normally there is a disk with the motherboard containing the RAID drivers for
D915PBL. But I can't say if this solves the problem.

Andrew,

Tried this and if I press S the second time, it only gives me the option to
load another driver via floppy. I tried making the partition and formating
in NTFS. It shows as a NTFS volume, but I still receive that it's "not a
windows xp compatible partition". I have a feeling it has something to do
with basic vs. dynamic disks...but that's just a hunch. Do you have any
other suggestions?

And I am loading them via F6, see my response to Andrew for more details on
what I've tried.

thanks
