Hey All, This is my first post and im wondering If yall can help me out. I
download and burned the .ISO file to a DVD and now I'm wondering how to
install RC1. Do I put it in the DVD drive and restart computer? I did that
and it installed XP again. Any ideas?
Also, Must I have Vista already to run it?

And, the clincher. How to I find out if I need the 32-bit or 64-bit edition
of RC1 or Vista? I have a Gateway GT5056 AMD 64 X2 Dual Core computer.

Thanks all for any and all help!

Richard,

RC1 is BETA software.... you should only install this on a computer that is
not critical to your daily use.
Your Gateway possibly has Windows XP recovery installed on another partition
and when your try to reinstall it reverts back to your OEM installation. I
don't know the workaround for this. You will have to read your documentation
with the computer and see how to configure for maybe a dual boot if you want
to risk running VISTA on your only computer.

I strongly reinforce Gripstock's advice not to install Vista except on a
test machine. I suspect Gripstock is right and you are installing XP from a
recovery partition because your cd/dvd drive is not set to a high enough
boot priority in your BIOS.
