Insuffcient memory

Some of the time when I start my computer I get the error
message "Insuffcient memory to run this application. Quit
one or more Windows applications and then try again". I
don't have anything running because I am just starting to
work on the computer. I merely close out the error
message and everything is fine. I do not get the message
each and every time.
Thanks for any help.

Hi Wally,

Just because you haven't started anything yet does not mean applications
have not been loaded into memory. Start/run msconfig, go to the startup tab.
Everything checked is loading at boot and occupying memory. Uncheck
unnecessary applications (ask if you are unsure about any in particular).

I have no clue with Armagedon means, but instead look to what you have
running in the background. This error message has nothing to do with
the amount of physical RAM in the system. Rather, some program or
programs are running and using all your system resources. This could be
because you have too many legitimate services and programs running in
the background, or it could be because you are infected with viruses,
trojans, or other spyware/malware. Scan with your current av using
updated definitions and remove spyware with Spybot Search & Destroy
and/or Ad-aware. Stop unnecessary programs and services from starting
up with windows. Here are two excellent resources for information about
startup programs and services:
