Instant Search Feature in beta 2007

I have successfuly installed the Beta and may I say the new GUI's are
particularly well done!! Upon opening Outlook, I get a dialogue box offering
to install Instant Search. Upon agreeing, all goes well until the error
"cannot find clidaemon.exe". When I run the new diagnostic tool, it advises I
have 2 versions of Outlook and to uninstall one. In Add/Remove, Outlook 2003
is not listed. Can anyone advise?
Thanks!

Is clidaemon.exe as spelt the correct file? I can't locate any info on it.
Try:
Repair the installation.
Is Office 2003 still showing as installed?

My error Bill! The complete error is "The following Files are using files
that the Installer has to update". Then, it lists "cidaemon.exe" two times
(no "l" in it). It then asks to "retry" of "continue". In either case, it
aborts the installation and then uninstalls itself.
Outlook 2003 is not listed in "Add/remove", however, several updates for it
do show up there.
I will next try repair, but me intuition tells me remnants of Outlook 2003
are lingering somewhere, as on occasion, I will see the top bar of Outllok
2003 (the gray one) show up on top of a blank screen before it "snaps back"
to Outlook 2007.
I do appreciate your help, particularly on this holiday weekend!

did you uninstall office 2003 or let the beta uninstall it? uninstall the
beta and reboot then try reinstalling.

cidaemon.exe is involved in Indexing. I think it might be involved in
Windows Indexing to make searches faster. Try disabling that in Windows
Search Options. Also see if the cidaemon.exe process is running and see if
you can terminate it before you try installing WDS 3 - Task Manager |
Processes tab.
I think your error trying to install WDS 3 and what you are being told is
two versions of Outlook installed are different issues. Maybe diagnostics
ahs it wrong in this case.

Diane & Bill:
Thanks for your combined efforts, I appreciate them very much. To Diane's
first: I originally let Beta uninstall Outlook 2003. Upon trying to uninstall
Office Pro Beta now, I received an error that stated there was a corrupt file
and it could not uninstall the program (!). That is a first for me. I then
downloaded a fresh version and tried intsalling over the original. Result?
Same problem.
To Bill's: I did stop the cidaemon.exe process, then went to Windows search
and unchecked indexing.
After completing all the above, I no longer get the "cidaemon.exe" error,
however, the WDS3 install continuse just fine until it gets to "Updating
Registry Keys", when the error comes up "Access denied" and WDS3 then
uninstalls itself.

Any other thoughts? I am determined to fix this.
