Installing XP SP2 Trouble

I downloaded the SP2 from the Microsoft website. When the setup wizard
opened it started to, i think it said update files, when after a couple
minutes my whole screen went black for awhile. Then my screen came back up
but the setup wizard window was blank, everything else is operating slowly
but the setup wizard isn't responding. What do i need to do to fix this and
finish this installation? Also if i turn off my computer before the
installation is complete do I have to download it again?

The Service Pack 2 files are copied to the WINDOWS folder but the SP2 itself
remains intact, so you can use it again.

To start over, first restore the system to a previous restore point. Before
you start, defrag the drive and check it for errors (both apps on the drive
properties tools), next check the drive for spyware, delete cookies and temp
files from the Internet Options\General buttons, delete temp files from the
C:\WINDOWS\Temp folder and from the Documents and Settings\UserAccount\Local
Settings\Temp folder... next execute the sp2 installer.

If you have the Windows XP CD you could make the whole process go a lot
faster by making a Windows XP/SP2 Slipstreamed Bootable CD so you can do a
Repair installation or a Clean Installation...
To slipstream it manually

To automate the slipstreming use AutoStreamer.
