If you are doing a clean install - boot with said CD, delete the partition,
create a new partiton and format/install.

If you are not doing a clean install - google for 'slipstream SP2 into
Windows XP CD' and/or 'autostreamer' and/or 'nlite'...

Have you tried just going ahead and installing the "newer
version" of XP? The "newer version last" homily pertains to
the boot managers, and the boot manager (at least the
functions of the boot files) is the same for all members of the
NT family of windows, so it makes no difference which OS
is installed last - they're both NT OSes - and if the installer
"sees" the 1st OS when it is installing the 2nd OS, it will
configure the boot.ini file for dual booting, and it will name
the partition containing the 2nd OS something different from
the name of the partition for the 1st OS.
