Installing XP on two comps?

I have Windows XP Pro Academic Version that came preinstalled on my laptop,
but the CD and CD key were given to me. Can I install this CD onto a
computer that I am building (meaning it will have nothing on it)? This will
have one product key running on two machines. Will I run into any problems
if I do this? Or should I buy another CD? I also want to ask the same
questions for Office XP Academic Version. (I'm pretty sure the academic
version doesn't make any difference anyway). Thanks for your help.

For Windows XP, you'll need a separate license for each system the OS is
installed on. Since you have the Academic version as opposed to an OEM
version, you can transfer the OS from one system to another, but you only
have a license for one installation at any one time.

For Office XP, I believe your license allows two installations. So, you
should be able to install it to both a laptop and a desktop. Check your
EULA, but I'm sure I'll get corrected if I'm wrong.

Technically - it will pobably work.
According to what you agree to when you install/use it - you are breaking
your agreement.
