XP Pro Academic Edition install problem

One of my laptops crashed on me and I replaced it with an Apple iMac. Since
the new iMacs can run Windows, I tried to install the Academic Edition that I
got a year or two ago so I could still use my Windows-based software.
However, I'm getting an error message. The error message goes something like
this (I'm paraphrasing): "The system did not detect a current version of
Windows on this system. In order for you to install this upgrade version,
you must prove your eligibility. Please insert any version of Windows XP,
NT, 2000, Me, 98, etc., etc., etc.

The XP Pro Academic Edition doesn't say it's an upgrade version on the disk.
I've read a few posts of people having problems like this and everyone says
that you can't use the original OEM Recovery Disk to solve the problem.

If that's true, then is there any way I can use my Academic Edition upgrade
on another machine since my old one went toast on me?

Thanks.

You'll have to install Windows XP in Apple's Boot Camp:

Well I had to go buy a new Windows XP disk. Fortunately, the local Mac store
had some XP OEM disks for sale for $125 (Home Edition).

Thanks for the initial feedback, but my problem wasn't how or where to
install Windows, but the version of Windows that I had. After I got my OEM
disks, everything installed properly.

Although my Windows Academic Edition didn't say "upgrade" on it, I guess it
was, and I needed to get an original installation disk.

Thanks again.
