installing wireless, computer freezes

Having trouble installing D-Link wireless adapter.
I follow instruction – after downloading drivers and restart computer, I
install the DWL-G650 adapter into the computer LAPTOP, and while it is
transferring the files the computer locks up. This is the 5th card from
D-Link and they have not been of any help, I have followed all instruction,
upgraded bios, reinstalled Windows XP, you name it I have done it.
NOTE- I have upgrade my hard drive for 30 to 60 gigs. Since that time I
have not been able to install the wireless adapter. I worked when I had the
30 gigs.
Any solution to this problem would greatly be appreciated.

I too experienced a BSOD when installing a wireless USB adapter from D-Link.
After several tests, I determined that the D-Link wireless USB adapter
drivers was the cause of my problems. Fortunately, I was able to return
this unit. I will be checking for a different manufacturer, other than
D-Link.
