Installing WinXp on WinME

Hi

I want to install winXP on WinME,I put WinXP CD in CD drive
and I set the configure in setup to sartup with CD-ROM
and I tried to boot from CD but it automatically boot from hard and win ME
would be starting! why?
what can I do ? can anybody direct me step by step?

If you want to install XP on top of ME why would you try to boot from the XP
cd, just insert the XP cd and you will be prompted to do the install.
As to why it booted from the hard drive and not the CD, you obviously didn't
make the correct changes in the bios to enable the computer to boot from cd.
