hi I installed a copy of windows xp home edition on my computer that I had
bourght for my son for the computer he built I used it after he had installed
it on his computer because my computeer crashed and I could not find the
original windows me disc that came with it. I realise now that I should not
have done this because I cannot use his activation key again. My question is
this, I have now been out and bourght another copy of windows xp the thing is
can I keep the copy of windows xp I have on my computer and just use the
activation key from the new copy I bourght or will I have to reload windows
again.?

You do not have to reinstall Windows cleanly again. See FAQ #18 here:
