Installing VS2005 Beta2 on a VS2003 machine

Can I do this? Will the two environment and frameworks co-exist?

I will later on wish to change the VS2005 Beta2 installation into the full
VS2005 installation (also still keeping VS2003).

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Yes you can have vs2003 and vs2005 on the same machine. Not always
the simplest thing to remove a beta and install the final version.

Yes, they can. However, if possible I suggest to install Whidbey on a
separate machine. I use virtual machines like Virtual PC or VMWare to run
beta software.

Thanks to both MVP's for your responses.

I'm going to make the install - but not on either VirtualPC or VMWare.
They'd run it too slow for my liking as I'm want to get seriously into it,
removing the beta would be well worth it.

Any idea of when the release is going to be announced? PDC conference?

BTW, if you have access to a copy of Virtual PC that is route I would recommend.

Yup, but VPC is slow and clunky.
