installing vista without a dvd drive

I have downloaded vista, but don't have a dvd drive ont he computer that I
want to run it on. does any one kno if there is annother alternative, maybe
through a usb hdd or through a partition?

So why not spend the $60 or so for a DVD drive?
Why you would download Vista without finding out the necessary
hardware requirements totally escapes me.

If you did find out the hardware requirements, why did you still do it
when you saw your machine did not meet the requirements?

Did you think you could put it on your old 486 with a floppy and 1x CD
drive?

Let's face it, my friend: Modern Operating Systems need modern
machines, not old DOS boxes.
