Installing usb/firewire external drive

I recently tried to install an usb/firewire drive and I
could never get it to load the drivers without rebooting.
Now I get a blue screen and a stop error. What does this
mean and what can I do to fix it.
This is killing me....!!!!

What mode do you use - USB or firewire?
Have you installed any drivers that come with it?
and what model it is, if not a secret?

The HD is seagate 120GB
Its in a HD enclosure I got from ctgdirect.com with both
usb 2.0 and firewire.
when I connected it windows recognized it and started the
install new hardware wizard.
Never installed drivers from the cd it came with.
when I tried to let the windows driver installation
complete it failed and rebooted.
Now getting boot drive inaccessible.
Cant boot up in safe mode...last know config
nothing....just keep getting the stop error(blue screen)
