hi,

i have an old mainboard and new 40 gb disk. but my mainboard doesn't
recognize the entire 40 gb, but recognize like 32 gb disk. when i boot from
xp cd, and start to setup, xp recognizes entire my disk. when xp boots after
copied all files, an error occurs: "Error loading operating system".

Is there any suggestion?

You can only create a FAT32 partition from within XP or XP setup of 32GB
maximum. This is a limitation of XP. Doubt if your BIOS isn't supporting
larger drives.

Exactly how are you partitioning your drive?

If you're using the hard drive manufacturer's utilities to format the drive,
or if you've installed anything like EZ BIOS on the drive, you should remove
that and just let Windows handle the formatting during the install process.
