Installing SyncToy

Hi

Advise please.
I am trying to install SyncToy without success.
It keeps saying that MS .Net Framework 1.0 is required. However I have .Net
Framework 2.0 installed. Do I have to also install version 1 to get Synctoy
to install?
Why is .Net Framework vers 2.0 not backward compatible?

The .NET framework versions are significantly different, and the 2.0
version is not backwards compatible; applications written for the 1.0
version must have the 1.0 (or 1.1 version installed). The two .NET
versions can be installed on your computer at the same time, and it is
OK to install version 1.1 after you installed version 2.0.
