installing sprint wireless card

trying to install sprint novatel wireless merlin S720 card. cannot get
windows to recognize so sprint tried to put in dial up address but windows
gave message that it could not detect dial up modem. no one can figure out
at sprint so this is again a windows vista problem. I have Vaio VGN laptop.
