Installing SP2

Greetings! If SP2 does not take too much time to download by dial up
connection, then I shall do the following:- [a] I have a program called END
IT ALL to stop all extra programs [including Norton Anti-Virus ]running. I
shall use this program first.
Then to go on line and go to update program and download the SP2
program.

Shall I take any other measures for smooth downloading? With thanks.

Do a complete back up and make a restore point, just in case.
