Hi richard
Yes you do.
unfortunatly not all mainbord manufacturers suply the power lead as well.
a local pc shop should have loads spair.
ask nicely and they may not charge you.

Be aware if you havent upgraded your power supply, and you have many
connections the power supply 'may' be to low to supply the wattage, which
can cause probs with sata drives

Richard:
While there may be good & sufficient reasons why you would want to upgrade
your present PS, the fact that you're going to be using a SATA HD is not, in
itself, reason to do so. We have not found any significant differences
involving power requirements between PATA and SATA drives.

Your present PS may be entirely adequate for your new system. I assume
you've had no problems that could be traced to an inadequate PS while using
your Win98 system. Why don't you take a look at http://www.newegg.com under
"power supplies" for information in this area? Also, a Google search on
"computer power supplies" will provide you with a good deal of info on the
subject.

I assume from the previous responses you've received that you now have an
understanding of the data & power cable connections affecting your SATA HD.
