installing recovery console in xp

each time i try to install the recovery console i recieved the following
message setup cannot continue because the version of windows on your
computer is newer than the version on the cd

You'll probably need to do a repair install first, which should replace the
OS files with the CD versions. You can then install the console, and
re-apply updates.

However, you may be able to get into the recovery console via booting from
the CD, without installing.

If you have upgraded to SP2 and you are using a CD from a previous version
of XP, you will see that error message. To install the Recovery Console in
SP2, you will need to create a slipstreamed SP2 CD.

You can download the SP2 file (266 MBs) from here:

or if you have a copy of the SP2 CD, you can copy the xpsp2.exe file from
that CD onto your hard disk/partition and use that:
