Hello,

I would like to know if it's possible to install programs in Windows XP
Professional without administrative privileges.

Thanks

Hi Joao,

In most cases no, though in a WinXP Pro system sometimes the Power User
level account can do it. Installation usually requires the placement of
files in the system folders and keys written to the registry, something that
cannot occur in a limited user account. You can adjust the group policy
editor to "always install with elevated privileges", and this can help with
some installations but it won't work for them all (some program setups check
that they are being installed from an admin level account).
