Installing printer off network printserver

I've heard that Vista has some problems adding a printer and drivers
from a network printserver, is this true, and if so, how do I get around
this?

I really don't know. I'm having the same problem you describe. Printers show
up but fail to add when you try connecting them to your installed printers.
