Greetings to all users,

I have just bought a SiS 900 pci fast ethernet adapter. I am at present connecting to the internet via my usb broadband modem. Do I need to disable this in order to use the new pci card? Any help gratefully acknowledged.

Thank you.

Generally no. But this may depend on your configuration.

Are you intending to connect to the modem via the new ethernet adapter or
will it continue to be done via USB? Some modems will do both but some, like
the Westells that BellSouth sells, will do one or the other but not both
simultaneously. If you are just adding the ethernet adapter for some other
purpose like connecting to a network then you don't need to do anything with
the USB.
