INSTALLING OFFICE XP

I have been unable to install Office XP Pro on my WinXP Home computer. I am
receiving a Windows Installer notice, "The system administrator has set
policies that prevent this installation". I have installed AVG Free and
removed all Norton products which I feel may have impacted somehow. I have
tried Rnav2003, as well as Windows Installer CleanUp (msicuu2) with no
success.

Do you have administrator rights on the pc....Chk in user accounts,if
administrator
settings need to be adjusted, press F8 on start up,safe mode, enter xp as adm.
Also, installer clean up is not a functioning utility,it was created in 2003..

Ramesh, thank you for the assistance. I have tried a number of different
avenues to try and resolve my problem.

I am using an account set as an 'administrator' as I am still preparing the
system for use by the family (missus and four kids).

I have tried the following:

a. set system to auto logon to administrator account, Failed: "Unable to
LOGON due to account restriction".

b. set system to auto logon to Compaq_user account, Failed: "Unable to LOGON
due to account restriction".

c. tried to logon with twin 'Ctrl-Alt-Del' at logon, Failed: "Unable to
LOGON due to account restriction".

d. attempt to "Install/Run Program As Other User", Failed: "Unable to LOGON
due to account restriction".

I am constantly receiving 'The system administrator has set policies to
prevent this installation', or 'Unable to LOGON due to account restriction'
with each different attempt to install.

It took me 2 and a half days o reformat and load all programs to get to this
point.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Joe
