Installing .Net compact on Windows CE 5.0 device

Hello

I need to install microsoft dotNet compact on an HMI panel that runs windows
CE 5.0. The panle doesn't support Active sync.

Copy the CAB to the device and run it.

Hi Michael,

Copy CAB to your target HMI device for installation is okay.....
However, once you reboot the system, the install components will be all gone.
So, your will have to install it again every time you reboot the system.
The best way to slove this is to ask the image provider to update their
winCE 50 QFEs to the latest one which covers the the Compact Framework, and
rebuild the image for you...This is the totally solution to your problem.

Only the OEM can update QFEs. You can install .NET CF by copying and
installing CAB files.
