Installing Modem

Dear friends,
I have tried to install a Modem driver in my Xpe image. It
says the error "Failed in Installing modem driver.". I navigate to control
panel and I click the Phone and Modem settings, It says the problem in
Telephony service. Kindly advice me to overcome this problem.

Veerasivakumar,

For the driver install failures please check out SetupApi.log file on your target device.

Also, you may want to consider the driver componentization as a good option.

And obviously, include TAPI and Telephony service components in your image configuration.

Dear Brad,
I am using the reliance modem, manufactured by LG. The type of
modem is LG LSP-340E/ LST-250 (Serial). I kindly expect ur help as soon as
possible.

Reagrding the install errors you are seeing, please check SetupApi.log file (under \windows folder on your target device) to see
what has happened during the installation. If you are using news client like Outlook Express, please feel free to post your log file
here as attachment.
