Installing Logitech application

I'm on Windows XP2 with all the updates. I installed a Logitech MX5000
keyboard/mouse. I tried to load the application that goes with it. I get an
error
-5004 (0x80070005). I talked with Logitech support, but eventually they
said that it was a Microsoft error. They referred me to KB884573. The error
is the same (at least the hex part is) but the situation described it
different. I tried to download the hotfix anyway, but cannot find it in the
downloads. Does anyone know how to either get this hotfix or get this
application loaded?

Things I've already tried:
Setting my rights on Local_Machine to full control and spreading it to
children
Having a clean boot
Cold boot to clear memory after deleting the Logitech key.

None of these have worked.

It seems that something blocks you. Do you have any firewall installed and
enabled? Try to disable or uninstall them temporarily. And be sure you have
admin rights. Maybe installing InstallShield may help you.
