Installing Hardware

I recently bought a "AOpen 16x DVD Burner". I put it in my tower, put the
disk inand nothing. It doen't read anything, doesn't register in "My
Computer"....nothing!! What do i do????
 
Make sure you plugged in the IDE cable and molex four-pin connector,
and make sure that you plugged them in well. Also, if you have any
other devices connected with the IDE cable, the jumper settings on your
new burner must be "slave" or "cable select". Otherwise, if it's the
only device attached with the cable make sure it's on "master".
