You may want to consider getting one of those USB memory keys - if your laptop
can be made to boot from a USB device, it is possible to make (at least some)
memory keys bootable, and put DOS on it. Then you don't need to change
anything on your hard drive at all - just put in the memory key when you want
to boot to DOS. I have used a utility that I downloaded from DELL to make the
key bootable.
